Here are some of the Harry Potter goodies I enjoyed in December!
Title: Between Dreams and Miracles
Word Count: ~4,700
Content/Warnings: angry!sex, auror!harry, auror!draco
Summary: Deep down, Draco has always been a dreamer, orbiting around his own private sun.
Really lovely fic with Draco's achingly beautiful dreams alternating with reality. Wonderful flow and a great ending!
Title: More Than Half a Smile
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Ron/Hermione
Word Count: 5,900
Rating: Hard R
Content/Warnings: eighth year, bottom!harry, slight holiday!fic
Summary: Ever since Harry came back to Hogwarts for his eighth year, Malfoy has been responding to everything anyone does with half a smile. It doesn’t take long for Harry to realize that what he really wants is something more.
I really liked the concept here, it totally would drive Harry a bit mad trying to figure out what the half-smile means and wanting to get more of a reaction from Draco. And then seeing how that turned into a friendship and then something more was lovely. That ending was so wonderful and sexy and fabulous! <3
Word Count: 7,700
Content/Warnings: intercrural, first time, bottom!draco, implied switching, daily deviant kinky kristmas 2014
Summary: Draco's fucked up a lot of things in his life, sometimes spectacularly. Watching that man with his hand on Harry's arm, thinking that he, instead of Draco, might be the first to fuck Harry, well, this, in terms of his life mistakes, could be monumental.
This is just fabulous! Love Draco's job here, it's so perfect for him, and I can totally see how that might be an obstacle for Harry. Harry as a virgin is amazing and I really enjoyed how into everything Draco is.
Title: The Secret of the Whole (companion piece to Life is a Twice Written Scroll)
Word Count: 18,506
Content/Warnings: AU, bottom!harry, bottom!draco, switching
Summary: Snapshots in time as Harry and Draco grow up in a world without Voldemort, moving from enemies to lovers. A companion piece to Life is a Twice Written Scroll, for those that liked the last timeline in that story and wanted to see more of it.
Really fabulous companion piece. Loved the Alternate Timeline aspect here. Not at all confusing and I thought it was awesome to see how things changed (and didn't change) in this verse. Lovely characterizations and the connection between Harry and Draco was gorgeous. Plus, super hot switching sex! :D
Pairing: Harry/Draco, background Hermione/Ron
Word Count: ~93,000
Content/Warnings: eighth-year, first time, switching, bottom!draco, bottom!harry, holiday!fic
Summary: Seven months after the end of the war, Harry is feeling lost. Fortunately, he is about to be offered an unexpected and sparkling chance to find himself again.
Such a fabulous, fabulous fic! Harry and Draco get in trouble and have to watch over some magical creatures together as punishment. So of course, lots of bonding, and sexual tension, and wonderfulness occurs! The frost snails are a lovely concept and the relationship here between Harry and Draco was so lovely and fabulously paced. Gorgeous writing and hot sex, what more can you ask for?
Title: The Long Defeat
Pairings: Harry/Draco, Lucius/Narcissa, mentions of Ron/Hermione
Rating: Hard R
Word Count: 99,713
Summary: Harry thought that becoming a slave to the goblins was about the worst thing that could possibly happen, except the sinking of the wizarding economy that the goblins had threatened if he didn’t. Then Lucius Malfoy showed up and offered to buy him instead, and maybe that was the worst thing. Or maybe not—at least, not if the Malfoys are sincere in their efforts to help him fool the goblins.
Such an interesting read! The concept of Harry owing the goblins for the Gringotts break-in was really interesting and I really enjoyed how the Malfoy's "rescued" him. The relationship development between Harry and Draco was great and the whole fic was wonderfully executed.
Title: Luna Lovegood in Winter
Character: Luna Lovegood
Medium: watercolor pencils
Such a lovely portrait of Luan! I adore the colors here and how healthy and cheerful Luna looks. Seriously adorable.
Title: Best friends
Characters: Albus Severus and Scorpius
This is so awesome! Just Albus and Scorpius looks all adorably hipster-like, sitting together, being best friends. They are both so beautifully drawn here, go and flail over the pretty!
Pairing(s): Remus/ Sirius
Art Medium: watercolour, goauche and edit of snow in Photoshop
Content/Warnings: animated, mini fest 2014
Summary: Sirius, Remus and a buttload of snow.
This is seriously gorgeous! The playful romp in the snow, how adorable Sirius and Remus are staring into each others' eyes, and the animated snow that gives the whole piece such a magical feel.
Title: "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?"
Content/Warnings: outdoor!sex, bottom!snape, daily deviant's kinky kristmas 2014
OMG this is so freaking hot and surprisingly hilarious at the same time. I'm especially fond of Severus bracing himself against the snowman and the way Remus is scrunching up the fabric at Severus' hip as he fucks him. Seriously wonderful! :D
Title: Undone (sequel to Unguarded)
Pairings: Draco/Albus Severus, background Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny
Word count: ~8,800
Content/Warnings: age disparity (43/17). Harry, Ron and Hermione unfavourably described from Draco's POV, talk of bottom!albus, talk of sex toys, semi-public!sex, first person POV
Summary: Draco promised himself that he wouldn't be tempted again. But then he wasn't expecting Albus to look so delectable at the party. How quickly good intentions can become undone...
Unguarded is seriously amazing and this sequel is just the perfect follow up. It plays on that gorgeous dynamic of innocent, desperate-for-it Albus and predatory, unable to resist Draco. Crazy hot blowjob and just really amazing characterizations. LOVE!
Title: Finding Viktor Krum
Pairing: Albus Severus/Viktor Krum
Word Count: 13,155
Content/Warnings: bartender!krum, architect!albus, hp beholder 2009
Summary: "A man walks into a pub..." Or, how the universe played a joke on Albus Severus Potter and how he learned to go along with it.
Not a pairing I've ever read before but the author really sells it. Viktor and Albus are wonderfully characterized here and their connection is wonderful and felt so organic and believable. The writing is superb and I liked that, while the wizarding world isn't as accepting of homosexuality as seems to be the norm in HP fic, it wasn't uncomfortable or horrible either. Plus, awesome Dad Harry is always a favorite.
