What I'm Reading

What did you recently finish reading?

The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan
I actually super enjoyed this one! It's long and a bit slow to start, but a super interesting look at the various places our food comes from.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by JKR
Still super interesting to reread this series from a fannish perspective.

Hard Knox (Havenwood #3) by Riley Hart
This author is generally okay for me, though this series isn't my favorite. This was the best of the three so far, and it's good for a bit of mindless reading, which is what I wanted when I read it.

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Meh? Not bad, but not exactly gripping, either. Which could have been partially my fault as I was often fairly distracted while listening to this one and probably didn't give it as much of my attention as I should have.

Notable Fanfic Reads:
-you've got the antidote for me by [archiveofourown.org profile] Kandakicksass (Harry Potter, Drarry)
-Promise Series by Ruby (Smallville, Clex)
-Hearthstone by [archiveofourown.org profile] Molly (Supernatural RPF, J2)

What are you currently reading?

Anti-Diet by Christy Harrison
Current non-fiction read!

Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
I've heard great things about this one and I'm doing a buddy read with a friend. Only a few chapters in, but I like the writing so far.

Peace Talks (Dresden files #16) by Jim Butcher
I've been waiting for this book for AGES and I'm so excited it's finally out!! Curently listening on audio because I LOVE James Marsters' narration and I listened to almost every other book on audio. I also have it on kindle though in case I just NEED to read more quickly and find out what happens!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Pieces of You (Missing Pieces, #1) by N.R. Walker
This author can be a bit hit or miss for me (with more hits than misses), and I'm honestly really not keen on memory loss as a trope, so not sure how this will go... But book two in this series just came out so I should probably read book one...

White Teeth by Zadie Smith
I've had this author on my TBR list for ages and finally purchased this book a few weeks back as part of the #BlackoutBestsellerList challenge that was going around.
