Title: The Letter
Word Count: 9,652
Notes: AU: Thorin Lives
Summary: Once Bilbo arrives in the haunted stillness of Bag End, his chest aches to realize the house does not feel like a home anymore. His books are still there, his furniture is still there (once he hunts it down and returns it, dusty and fingerprinted, to its correct place.) But still, the feeling of pervasive strangeness remains. He at first chalks it up to having been empty: to a year of disuse, to odd scents filtering their way in and settling like cobwebs in the absence of his usual routine, tea and baking and the drying of herbs. Perhaps, once he begins these things again, it will not feel so cavernous, so lonely, so strangely and painfully bare, like a tree stripped of its leaves come winter.
But weeks pass, and nothing changes. So maybe it’s not the emptiness, but the fact (which he is trying his very hardest to dutifully ignore) that he left his heart behind to crystalize in the caverns of the Lonely Mountain.
Really lovely ~everybody lives~ fic with Bilbo going back to the Shire and Thorin eventually following him. I really enjoyed their characterization and relationship here.
Title: Sansûkh (and porny outtake, Ivy & Diamonds
Pairing: Bilbo/Thorin, Gimli/Legolas, background canonical pairings
Rating: Teen (main fic), Explicit (coda)
Word Count: 577,844 (coda: 5,105)
Notes: major character death (canon), sloooow burn
Summary: The battle was over, and Thorin Oakenshield awoke, naked and shivering, in the Halls of his Ancestors. The novelty of being dead fades quickly, and watching over his companions soon fills him with grief and guilt. Oddly, a faint flicker of hope arises in the form of his youngest kinsman, a Dwarf of Durin’s line with bright red hair.
(Follows the story of the War of the Ring).
(Bagginshield, Gimli/Legolas) In which recovery takes time, the dead members of the Company take to watching Gimli as though he’s a soap opera, the living struggle with being left behind, Legolas is confused, Khuzdul is abused, and Thorin is four feet and ten inches of guilt and anger.
I have been reading this fic for over seven years, which is VERY unusual for me as I basically never read WIPs, but it is one of the most beautifully written things I’ve ever read, and I'm both thrilled and a bit sad that the fic is finally complete! It essentially starts with Thorin's canonical death at the end of the Hobbit and continues on through the end of the the events in the Lord of the Rings. The fic does a truly astounding job of blending all of the Tolkien works/appendices with the movie canon to create an utterly compelling retelling. The main fic itself is Teen-rated, with Bilbo/Thorin and Gimli/Legolas as the primary pairings, though there is another 90k worth of codas/outakes in the Sansûkh: The Appendices series, including the Explicit Thilbo fic I linked above! The characterizations are fucking fantastic and the dwarves are especially wonderful. I honestly cannot do this fic justice trying to explain how much I adore it. We get to see both the quest/fellowship of the ring and what was happening in Erebor during LoTR, we get to meet so many dwarves (I’m especially happy about all the kick-ass female dwarves!), we get to see Legolas and Gimli and their antagonism and how it evolves into friendship and then more and it’s so achingly beautiful and believable. We see Thorin struggling with his guilt over the gold-sickness, his heart-ache at realizing Bilbo was his One far too late, his resolve to protect Gimli and Frodo at all costs. There is a large cast here and every single man, dwarf, hobbit, and elf jumps right off the screen. The research that went into this is just staggering. It’s honest to god perfection. One of, if not the best fanfics I've ever read.
Title: The Ackles Presidential Library Series (3 Fics)
Pairing(s): Jared/Jensen, minor Jensen/OFC
Word Count: 20,221
Content/Warnings: AU: Politics, Politician!Jensen, consensual infidelity, secret relationship, bottom!jensen, rimming, boss/employee relationship
Summary: The President's schedule is extremely tight, but mornings have a little leeway. Six a.m. wake-up call is Jared's job.
Really interesting series that shows snippets of Jensen's life as a politician with Jared at his side as an aide. Super hot and a really lovely relationship despite the need to hide what they are to one another.
Title: the life of a PhD isn't easy series (2 Fics)
Pairing(s): Jared/Jensen, sort of Jared/OFC
Word Count: 25,042
Content/Warnings: AU: University, TA!Jensen, first time, drunk!sex, secret relationship, bottom!jensen, semi-public!sex
Summary: Jensen's a little stressed from writing his dissertation, so he agrees to go to a party. His favorite student is also there.
Super fun AU with Jensen as a TA and Jared as an undergrad. They, of course, have amazing chemistry but Jensen is torn because of his job. Loved their relationship here!
Title: Ahead of the Threat
Pairing(s): Jared/Jensen, mention of past Jensen/Matt & Jared/Tahmoh
Word Count: 47,983
Content/Warnings: AU, FBI!Jensen, FBI!Jared, pining, bottom!jensen
Summary: FBI Special Agents Jensen and Jared have been partnered for almost two years now and Jensen’s been falling in love with Jared for about as long. Finding the criminal doesn’t happen overnight, and neither does their story. Told through four cases, this fic follows an episodic/procedural format as Jensen and Jared’s relationship grows, they catch a lot of bad guys (and girls), and they save each other’s lives.
Really fun AU with Jared and Jensen as FBI partners who, of course, have ~feelings~ for one another! I really enjoyed their relationship here and it was lovely watching things slowly develop between them as they worked their various cases!
Title: Alternate Versions & sequel A Little Less Conversation (On LJ, not AO3)
Word Count: ~2,000 & ~1,260
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, first time, bottom!dean, implied switching, crack!fic
Summary: Alternate ending to 4:05; it turns out the shapeshifter likes Warhol's Dracula.
Super funny season 4 fics with Sam needing to "divirginize" Dean for ~reasons~, and then Dean dealing with it in his stereotypical avoidance way
Title: Never Have I Ever
Word Count: 2,683
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, intercrural sex
Summary: The night before Sam goes to talk to Lucifer, the boys get drunk together.
The obligatory drinking games lead to Wincest cliché fic, and a not quite so obligatory missing scene for 11x09 “O Brother Where Art Thou?”.
Lovely mid-season 11 fic with Dean and Sam bonding and coming together the night before Sam's to confront Lucifer again.
Title: room to breathe
Word Count: 3,426
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, first time, implied bottom!dean, shared bed
Summary: It's not Sam's last dream. But the next time, Dean is there for him.
Excellent fic that takes place early season 15 with Sam's dreams of him and Dean killing each other taking a bit of a demonically sexy turn and Dean being there to help him work through it. Always love me a first time fic and this one was lovely.
Title: One Too Many Series (2 Fics)
Word Count: 11,535
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, hurt/comfort, injured!sam
Summary: Sam's been taking a lot of hits to the head. After A Most Holy Man, he suffers a brain injury.
Great set of fics that take place sometime in late season 13 with Sam experiencing a traumatic brain injury and Dean supporting him in the aftermath. I really enjoyed their relationship in this one!
Title: the thirty-third yard
Word Count: 11,703
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, first time, switching, bottom!dean, bottom!sam, rimming, curtain!fic
Summary: It's not Sam's last dream. But the next time, Dean is there for him.
Fabulous fic that takes place after the second to last episode of the show and shows Dean and Sam living their lives, finally free, and finding their way to one another. Loved their relationship here and the characterizations were great!
Title: Love, Curiosity, Freckles, and Doubt Series (13 Fics)
Pairing: Dean/Sam, Jessica/Sam
Word Count: 26,535
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, underage, first time, bottom!dean, light bondage
Summary: The story of Sam's growing up, as told through Dean's freckles. Series title taken from the Dorothy Parker quote "Four be the things I'd have been better without: love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt."
Lovely series that starts pre-series and goes through the end of season 3. I really enjoyed Dean and Sam's relationship in this one, though just a heads-up that it does feel a bit incomplete.
Title: Blood Moon
Word Count: 29,583
Content/Warnings: AU: Raised Apart, sibling incest, creature!fic, werewolf!Sam, bottom!dean, dub-con, made them do it, cursed!dean, public!sex, outdoor!sex, rimming
Summary: Sam/Dean werewolf fic. With demon. Oh, and there's a book: of course there's a book. The Impala seems to have slunk in there as well. Don't think anyone drinks tea, it's not really the right fandom, but there are at least a couple of bonfires, some beer, and a little more bourbon than strictly necessary.
Really interesting Raised Apart AU with Sam raised as a werewolf and Dean as a hunter until their paths cross. I really enjoyed the writing in this one and the connection between Sam and Dean was great.
Title: Grace Under Fire (10 Fics)
Word Count: 39,319
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, estblished relationship, switching, bottom!dean, bottom!sam, car!sex, angry!sex, shaving!kink, light bondage
Summary: Fucking under fire with total awareness of the surroundings. Not as much fun as it might seem, but it does have it's upside.
Gorgeous and super hot early-seasons Wincest series. Basically a bunch of loosely connected PWPs with some great characterizations and a lovely relationship between the boys. The dialogue formatting's a bit weird and takes some getting used to, but it's worth it!
Title: Come to Leave Me
Pairing: Dean/Sam, brief Dean/OFC & Dean/OMC
Word Count: 49,834
Content/Warnings: sibling incest, time travel, age difference
Summary: He just wanted to change some things - go back and redo the parts that lead to this. He didn't expect to end up here.
Really interesting fic with Season 11 Sam traveling back in time to when he was 14 and connecting with his family in hopes of changing their futures. I really enjoyed seeing Sam interact with his Dad and Dean and his younger self, and the way everything all plays out was both lovely and a bit bittersweet.
